How many guests can stay at Brockstone Grasmere Cottage?
Often the cottage is booked by 2 adults only. I know when we go away we look for two bedroomed cottages, as one bedroom cottages tend to be very small. Brockstone is a very romantic spot for a couple. During school holidays the cottage is popular with families, as it comfortably sleeps two adults and two children. Due to the wild nature of the garden with the stream running through, and steps inside and outside the house we don’t recommend the cottage for children under 5 years. Brockstone cottage can of course also accommodate 4 adults. The price is the same however the cottage is occupied.
The maximum occupancy for the cottage is 4 guests. This includes all adults and children, whatever their ages. No more than 4 guests may stay at any time.
Guests must provide the names, addresses and phone numbers of all guests in advance of their stay. Ages of any guests under 18 must be provided. Only the named guests may stay in the cottage.
You may bring a dog to Brockstone Cottage
We do accept a well behaved dog at no extra charge.
We provide a steam cleaner and a top of the range Dyson vacuum.
This is particularly useful for dog owners, who we know are always very anxious that their dogs don’t make a mess, and that they will be welcome back. We know that a lot of cottage owners refuse to take dogs, but ( so far) we have found that dog owners are among the most considerate guests. There is no passing traffic (just walkers and the occasional sheep) and the walks from the door are much loved by our dog owning guests. Please remove all traces of your dog, inside and our, before you leave. Thanks!
One dog is welcome. We may accept two dogs, but please ask us. We ask that you keep your dogs off the furniture. Dogs are not allowed upstairs. The garden is not secure, and dogs need to be supervised at all times.
Force Majeure. We cannot accept liability or responsibility for any alterations, delay or cancellation or any other loss or damage caused by war, civil strife, terrorist action, industrial disputes, fire, sickness, bad weather, livestock, epidemics, acts of any government, or public authority, changes imposed by re-scheduling of airlines, ferries or any event outside our control. We strongly advise that you take out travel insurance to cover yourselves for any costs that might arise in the case of such events out of our control.
Please make sure that you have travel insurance for your holiday. You need travel insurance in the UK as well as for overseas holidays. Anyone can become ill at any time, and it is vital that guests are insured. Please read “Force Majeure” above to clarify that we are not responsible for matters out of our control.
