The snow won’t last.
March has started snowy, windy and cold in many parts of the UK, but the snow won’t last. Here in the Lakes, around Grasmere, we’ve had very little snow, but it is cold and windy and there is no way that you would want to sit outside.
However, here are a few photos taken in April last year, to remind you that very soon the snow will have gone and good times will roll.
Here’s the view from the terrace looking to the south east, where you can see Rydal Water down below. Go on, pour the Prosecco!
At last! The Prosecco has been poured. Sip and savour the view to the south west. You can see the Coniston Fells, and in the background the Langdale Pikes.
Walks from Brockstone Cottage
From Brockstone Grasmere Cottage you can walk in any direction. Here is a link to my article on 6 circular walks you can do from the door.
In spring, you’ll see lots of beautiful wild flowers and colourful local gardens. See more of these here.
Make your reservation at Brockstone Cottage
If you are sitting at home, unable to get out because of the snow, why not use the time to plan you next trip to the Lake District. We would, of course, recommend staying at Brockstone Grasmere Cottage. However, we are pretty well booked for 2018 and even have bookings into 2019, so be sure to check our availability first. For a good clear look at our rates and available weeks see us on the excellent Independent Cottages website. Click here for the link.
We do still have two weeks available later in March, when the snow will have gone and the days will be longer. We’ve reduced these two weeks by £100. Find out more by clicking here. The week 10-17 March was £590, now only £490, and the week 17-24 March was £690, now only £590.
To make a reservation, please read the information on our contact page here. Please Book Direct! We are part of the Book Direct movement, campaigning against the high charges that online booking websites will charge you. Your bookings with us are secure.
