Yesterday was terrible- torrential rain all day. The day before, we had a fantastic day’s walk in the sunshine. Today was forecast to be wet, which was a shame for all of our sheepdog loving guests who are at the Rydal sheepdog and hound show, just down the road.
BUT, it’s actually nearly dry, with a little hint of sun, and really quite warm. We do have 1 room left tonight if anyone needs to rest after the show before they go home!
Here’s a photo taken on Tuesday, of Peter, on the top of Wetherlam, with the Scafells in the background, looking over to Brockstone Cottage. The Scafells are in the background. You can see Wetherlam from Brockstone- it’s the big hill on the horizon, so obviously you can see Brockstone from Wetherlam. It’s just a little spot among the trees, and you have to know where to look. Sadly, my camera a little Canon digital, won’t show it, though it does very well for such an inexpensive camera.
We do still have a free week at Brockstone from 27 August. We’ll offer a short break rate if you can’t manage the whole week. Just email me for quotes sue@whitemoss.com
